Pissing in the ear of the great unwashed
I guess I must be totally uncultured, illererate and stupid. If I weren't I would understand why this urinal is a great work of art.
Marcel Duchamp's Fountain, essentially a urinal signed by the artist in 1917, was recently voted the most influential piece of art work of all time by a panel of 500 experts, many of whom make their living selling similar works.
This urinal was ahead of all forms of true art like Pablo Picasso's "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon," Andy Warhol's screen prints of Marilyn Monroe and "Guernica," Picasso's depiction of war's devastation, the "Mona Lisa".
Apparently someone agrees with me.
Urinal vandalized
A 76-year-old performance artist was arrested after attacking Marcel Duchamp's "Fountain" _ a porcelain urinal _ with a hammer, police said.
I personally believe that all the "artists" like Marcel Duchamp are laughing at those who take this crap seriously. It's a sort of conspiracy to allow people who have no real skill or knowledge to make a living selling crap they call art to gullible rich people who also don't see the "art" in it but are afraid to admit it, and are only buying because they think it impress their friends.
Of course it is a great investment. I don't know what a urinal and a felt tip pen cost in 1917, but if this thing is worth 3.6 million dollars today, that's a great investment.
Maybe I should join them. Here we go.
This beautiful work art is for sale, just 1.5 million dollars and you can have it in your own home to amazed and impress your friends. And in 90 years it will be worth Billions.

Wildfires in Texas an Oklahoma
I live in North Texas and spend some time in Southern Oklahoma. Everywhere I drive lately there are black areas of grass and trees from all the fires we have had in the area.Mostly from idiots throwing lit cigarettes out their car window. Come on people that's what the ashtray is for! If those things are so nasty you can't keep them in the car with you maybe you should just stop sucking on them.
Christmas night one of the big ones was traveling east a few miles south of my house, for a few minutes the wind changed and the smoke column was directly over my house. Which of course meant the fire was being blown directly toward my house. Thankfully for me the wind changed again and it went south east. Not so good for the people south east of the fire.
Our local fires department, many of which are Volunteer Fire Departments are working day and night. Lots of people aren't normally part of the VFDs are volunteering to help. The people are really turning out to help in other ways, like bring food and drink to the fire fighters. One local chain of gas stations is filling up fire trucks for free. Many local restaurants are feeding fire fighters for free. It's amazing the things good people are doing.
Here's the sad part. Many of the volunteer fire fighters have lost their job because they were off fighting fires. Yes, their employers have fired them.
Who would do that!?
These fire fighters are trying to keep the homes of the people who support those business from burning. But the business fire the fire fighters.
Not what I would call "community minded business".
Maybe if those business owners find their business or home in front of the fire the volunteers should just go find another fire to put out.
I wish the local news would publish the names of the business that are firing the fire fighters so I can stop doing business with them.
That is just SO WRONG!
