Gay cowboys?
I have gotten used to Hollywood lying to me about movies.I have lost count of the times I have paid money for one movie, the one I saw advertised, but sat through some other movie, the one they knew nobody would pay money to see.
Why don't they just make the movie they advertise?
If they know what we want to see well enough to know what lies to tell us to get us into the theatre, then why can't they just make that movie?.
One most recent example was Million Dollar Baby which was advertised as a boxing movie, but was mostly a Right to Die political indoctrination.
Countless others I have found I had already seen the good parts by watching the trailer.
Brokeback Mountain is in theatres as I write this. I have watched several advertisements for it on TV. I saw a trailer for it in a movie theatre. The ads tell you it is a love story. There are several scenes in the ads that show men and women in love scenes or dancing. NOWHERE do you see anything that implies the homosexual theme that is central to the movie.
Of course the ads trumpet the greatness of the movie. The laundry list of liberal rags that recommend it should be a give away.
What the ads don't tell you is it is a love story between two gay cowboys.
Were there gay cowboys? I don't know. I don't care.
I doubt it was common or open, even in the 60s when this story is supposed to take place.
Is Brokeback Mountain a gay propaganda film? You'll have to answer that one for yourself.
But, if it isn't then why do they try to hide what the film is actually about?
