The Camel Spider?
The Camel Spider? A lot of talk and many pictures have been floating around the net about Camel Spiders biting soldiers in Iraq. Stories of Soldiers in Iraq waking up with these monsters in their tents, chewing off their legs which have been numbed with anesthetic venom. As my hero Colonel Potter would say "Horse Pucky!"
I don't think so!
This camel spider is all over the news, all over the net. It is mostly hoax.
Yes, they exist. No, they are not venomous. No, they aren't big enough to ride. They may be as much as 5 inches long counting their legs.
debunking the Camel Spider
Camel spiders are also called wind spiders
Camel spider or Wind Spider
SO if your soldier is telling you these tall tails just go along with him or her, and ask them to bring one home for show and tell. :)
