French have much to be humble about

Appeasing al-Qa'ida will only encourage militants

CASHING IN ON IRAQ

Beware of the terrorist moles

Liberal media? I'm shocked!

How the press gets the military wrong -- and why it matters.

A recent Quote from Carl Bernstein

"Today, the United States is confronted by another ill-considered war, conceived in ideological zeal and pursued with contempt for truth, disregard of history and an arrogant assertion of American power that has stunned and alienated much of the world, including traditional allies. At a juncture in history when the United States needed a president to intelligently and forcefully lead a real international campaign against terrorism and its causes, Bush decided instead to unilaterally declare war on a totalitarian state that never represented a terrorist threat; to claim exemption from international law regarding the treatment of prisoners; to suspend constitutional guarantees even to non-combatants at home and abroad; and to ignore sound military advice from the only member of his Cabinet — Powell — with the most requisite experience. Instead of using America's moral authority to lead a great global cause, Bush squandered it."

"Today, the United States is confronted by another ill-considered war,

What makes it an ill considered war? The fact that you dissagree with it?

conceived in ideological zeal

If idelogical zeal, means a desire to protect the American People from enemies who declared war on us, then yeah, I guess so. I for one am pretty zealous about protecting America and her people.

and pursued with contempt for truth,

The only war around here that is being pursued with contempt for truth is the Democrat's war for the Whitehouse.

disregard of history and an arrogant assertion of American power that has stunned and alienated much of the world, including traditional allies.

Those traditional Allies,who would they be? France? Germany? When your allies are wrong, when your allies are more interested in lining their own pockets than in taking out a mass murderer, or helping prevent another 9/11 it's time to forget your SO-CALLED allies.

At a juncture in history when the United States needed a president to intelligently and forcefully lead a real international campaign against terrorism and its causes, Bush decided instead to unilaterally declare war on a totalitarian state that never represented a terrorist threat;

The United States has exactly the President we need right now. And he is doing exactly what he should be. He is inteliegently and forcefully attacking Jihadist Terror and IT"S SUPPORTERS. (That would be Saddam Husein)

Limp Wrist Libersl Defination of unilateraly
Without the support of all the despots and bannana dictators who compromise The UN. Only applies when a Republican President acts without The UN, Democrat Presidents are allowed a pass on this one.

to claim exemption from international law regarding the treatment of prisoners;

The prisoners in question are not covered by the Geneva Convention because the Geneva Convention protects soldiers. These are terrorists operating on their own.

to suspend constitutional guarantees even to non-combatants at home and abroad;

The Constitution does not cover people who commit crimes outside the US, and who are arrested outside the US, and have never been inside the US. The constitution covers US citizens, inside the US.

and to ignore sound military advice from the only member of his Cabinet Powell with the most requisite experience.

Also the only member who agrees with you Eh Carl.

Instead of using America's moral authority to lead a great global cause, Bush squandered it."

Bush IS leading the world in a great global cause. It's just that only the moral are following him. That would be about 90 nations.

Tell me something Karl why should we sit around being attacked time and time and again, while France and The UN sit on their thumbs, and contimue to collect thier bribes from Saddam, and continue to sell him goods and services? In other words if our "allies" are more interested in their own interests are we supposed to give crap about what they think?
