Mel Gibson's The Passion Of The Christ
Mel Gibson's The Passion Of The Christ opened in a lot of theatres today. I haven't seen it yet but The Passion Of The Christ is said by some to be anti-Semitic or at least they say it will cause anti-Semitism.
I've blogged briefly about this before.
I guess there were Jews involved in the Crucifiction of Christ, there were Romans also.
The people who killed Christ died a couple of thousand years ago! Why would we be upset with their descendants? No person living today had anything to do with it.
Also I see the actions of those who crucified Christ as fullfilling the will of God.
Christ was born for one purpose. To die for the sins of man. The whole plan of his existence on this earth was to be a sacrifice for our sins. From the day he born in Bethlehem he was destined to die for us.
So whoever sacrificed Christ was following God's plan. They were doing the will of God. If they had not killed Christ, Christians today would not be saved.
Yet, some people hate them for their actions. This just doesn't make any sense to me.
I plan to go see The Passion Of The Christ this weekend, if I can get tickets. All the theaters that are showing The Passion Of The Christ in my area are sold out Friday Saturday and Most of Sunday.
